Governing body vacancies

Have you ever considered becoming a Governor at Hunts Cross School? There are currently vacancies in the Parent Governor category, which the school would like to fill as soon as possible.

To be eligible to serve as a Parent Governor, your child must be a registered pupil of this school when the election takes place (this will also include those parents whose child is starting in Reception in September). A person may serve as a Governor on no more than two Governing bodies.

The full Governing Body meet twice each term (usually after school at about 4 p.m.) and there are various committees (such as Curriculum, Finance, Discipline etc) which meet at least termly.

Please don’t worry if you have no experience of school Governing bodies as you will be supported and trained both by the school and the Local Authority Governor Services, through their excellent New Governor Induction Training. All Governors of the school whether they be long serving and experienced or newly appointed, are supported through various training programmes and the school’s own New Governor Induction Pack, which gives lots of information about what is involved in becoming a Governor of a school.

Should we have more applications than vacancies, then a ballot of parents will be held and we will let you have specific details of how this is conducted should the need arise.

If you are interested but would like to find out more information before you apply please contact the school and either contact myself or Denise McDonnell.

The closing date for applications will be Monday 21st November.

Yours sincerely

Mrs J Spreadbury

Acting Headteacher
