Chinese Spring Festival

Last week, Hunts Cross Primary was one of the few schools chosen to perform alongside professional performers as part of the Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse's Chinese Spring Festival. The show itself was an exciting, vibrant mix of dance, martial arts, rap, theatre and song.

Children from Year 5 had been working with Mrs Bowman and a professional Chinese performer to create a dance based on the traditional Chinese fan dance.

There were a number of VIPs in the audience and each school was presented with a certificate and a handmade Chinese fan to display in school.

The children had a really fabulous day.  Some had never been inside a theatre like the Playhouse before, let alone perform at one.   They learned so much about Chinese culture as well as about how a professional performance and venue operate.

They have grown in confidence over the last 2 months and they quite rightly took a lot of pride in what they did.

Well done to them all
