Hello Year 4!
We have had a fantastic year so far and we have learnt so much already! We are quickly approaching Easter and have welcomed Miss Brown back after having her baby!
During our topic work this term, we will have a Geography focus and be learning about Europe. e will develop our understanding of map work, where we live, the EU and mountain ranges.
In English we will studying our quality text 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' and looking at writing imaginary settings. Look at some of the wonderful Imaginary Worlds that the children have made at home below.
In Maths we are learning about time, money and measures. We will be practising our written method skills and then applying these skills to solve and reason. Keep on working hard with your times tables. Don't forget 'Maths is magic, Maths is everywhere!!'.
In Science, we have been learning about animals including humans and are moving onto States of Matter. We enjoyed investigating the weight of gas last week and will investigate solids and liquids in the coming weeks.
In Computing we will be being news reporters and writing our own newspaper articles. Watch out for the escaped tiger!
This term our PE day is Friday. Please remember to have your PE kits in school.
English, spelling and Maths homework will be given out every Monday and returned on Friday.
Don't forget to continue to demonstrate our school values in order to gain raffle tickets for your teams
Keep on working really hard to improve our school and class attendance. 10 raffle tickets will be award tor those children with 100% attendance. Don't forget at the end of this term we have our attendance celebration assembly. Could you be receiving a bronze medal for Spring term or even a chance of winning computer tablet!?
