Hello Year 4!
Well what can we say Year 4...we are super proud of how you have all settled well in to year 4. We had a fantastic first half term and we have learnt so much already! Now we move on to autumn two.
During our topic work this term, we will have a Geography focus and travelling around the world!! We will develop our understanding of map work, where we live, the equator and the tropics.
In English we will studying our quality text 'Angel of Nitshill Road'. We've loved our immersion activities so far. Throughout the text we will be studying: issues and dilemmas, playscripts and story writing.
Let's keep on considering what would be placed in our class book of deeds!
In Maths we will be transferring our skills learnt in autumn one - place value and number, in order to develop our calculation and reasoning skills with multiplication and division. We will be practising our written method skills and then applying these skills to solve and reason. Keep on working hard with your times tables. Don't forget 'Maths is magic, Maths is everywhere!!'.
In Science, we will have our listening ears switched on during our topic of sound. We enjoyed our sound walk last week. During the topic we will be learning about how sounds are made.
In Computing we will be gathering data and learning how to develop spreadsheets.
This term our PE day is Thursday and we are lucky to have a coach come in to teach us. Please remember to have your PE kits in school.
English, spelling and Maths homework will be given out every Monday and returned on Friday.
Don't forget to continue to demonstrate our school values in order to gain raffle tickets for your teams
Keep on working really hard to improve our school and class attendance. 10 raffle tickets will be award tor those children with 100% attendance. Don't forget at the end of this term we have our attendance celebration assembly. Could you be receiving a bronze medal for Autumn term or even a chance of winning computer tablet!?
Keep up your hard work year 4 and well done for all of your achievements so far! Keep smiling
