Year 5

Happy New Year!

We hope that you have had a lovely break over the holidays and are feeling refreshed for an exciting new term ahead.  Our next topic is  'The Maya.' This is an exciting topic and allows you lots of freedom to explore whatever area you feel drawn to.

During this term we will be visiting Jaguar Land Rover Factory in the local area. IT IS VITAL THAT YOU WEAR THE CORRECT CLOTHING AND FOOTWEAR. WE DO NOT WANT ANYBODY BEING REFUSED ENTRY INTO THE FACTORY! :)

Our Class text for the first half term will be 'Holes' by Louis Sarcher. There will lots of opportunities to explore and discuss this text.  In Maths we will be working on Fractions. Remember that times tables and calculation is vital to understanding fractions so you should continue practise and reason with times tables too.

This term our PE day is on a Thursday and we will be going Swimming. Please make sure that you have your Swimming kit in. Homework is given out on a Friday and should be back in school by the following Tuesday.

We are looking forward to working with you all! :)

Mrs Taylor and Mrs Gibbons.

Remember it is very important to be in school every day! If you're not in school then you miss out on SO much! Those children that are in have a brilliant chance of being put into the prize draw every week. It also means you are guaranteed raffle tickets for your team.

Internet Safety Day- Consent.

Tuesday 5th February 2019 was internet safety day and the theme was consent. In our Computing lesson, we took part in some vocabulary games and a quiz about online safety and what consent actually means:

'To give permission.'

We then created online pledges as to how we are keeping ourselves and others safe online. Take a lok!
